Me is designed to be used by a parent or educator sitting with a person with learning difficulties. It gives clear language to explain personal and intimate areas of life, which are often very subtle and difficult to explain. If Me is on the computers at home and the learning environment, then everyone is using the same words, which makes it so much easier for the person with learning difficulties. Keep it simple – it’s hard enough to learn without everyone using different words and ways to teach the same thing.
It can be used by:
Parents. When most parents are withdrawing from taking an active role in their children’s lives, the parents of adolescents and adults with learning difficulties are often facing a whole new set of parenting issues. Me gives these parents a terrific tool to teach their child about relationships, safety in relationships and sexuality

Educators. Me is a resource which can be used in the classroom or other learning environments. This is often a difficult area to teach, with few resources which are modern and age-appropriate. Me is a 21st century resource. It’s funky and user-friendly for people with learning difficulties. The great thing is that they are using to learn computers at the same time as learning these life-skills
Therapists. Me is used by nurses, Occupational Therapists, Speech Language Therapists and care-givers. It’s flexibility means it can be used in many settings
People with mild – moderate intellectual / learning disability. Me has been used by many adolescents and adults with learning difficulties. They are very quickly able to move around the Me menu to get the information they need when they need it. The buttons are large, the cursor works over a large area, the colours have good contrast, the pictures are clear, simple and age-appropriate, the screen is uncluttered with no distracting images – only one thing is happening at a time

Residential Care providers. Me is a fantastic teaching resource for care-givers. All the basic material is there to teach difficult subjects in a way which is clear, sensitive and respectful
All Health Professionals. Doctors, nurses and therapists all have to be able to communicate with people with developmental difficulties. The video clips of people with learning difficulties speaking for themselves is a powerful example of how to communicate effectively with people with special needs
